KFC Coleslaw Recipe

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 8 cups finely chopped cabbage (about 1 head)
- 1/4 cup shredded carrot (1 medium carrot)
- 2 tablespoons minced onion
Instructions:
- Prepare the Vegetables:
- Finely chop the cabbage and shred the carrot. Mince the onion. Place these vegetables in a large mixing bowl.
- Make the Dressing:
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the mayonnaise, buttermilk, whole milk, sugar, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
- Mix the Coleslaw:
- Pour the dressing over the chopped vegetables. Mix thoroughly until the vegetables are evenly coated with the dressing.
- Chill:
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving, preferably overnight. This allows the flavors to meld together and the coleslaw to reach the desired texture.
- Serve:
- Give the coleslaw a good stir before serving to ensure the dressing is well distributed. Serve chilled.
Tips:
- For the best results, ensure the cabbage is finely chopped to achieve a texture similar to the original KFC coleslaw.
- Letting the coleslaw sit in the refrigerator overnight enhances the flavor
