Materials
- Orange chunky yarn
- Cream/white chunky yarn
- Green yarn
- Black yarn
- Crochet hook suitable for your yarn
- Tapestry needle
- Fiberfill for the ghost and pumpkins
- Scissors
- Tissue box for sizing
- Cream Base
Foundation: Chain enough stitches to match the width of your tissue box.
Work in single crochet (SC) in rows until the piece reaches the height of the box.
- SC across each row.
- Continue until the cover reaches the bottom edge.
- Join the sides with slip stitches or sew them together.
- Leave the top opening for the tissues.
- Orange Pumpkin Top
Attach orange yarn around the upper section.
Work several rounds of half-double crochet (HDC) or SC until the orange section reaches the desired height.
For the top opening:
- Work around the opening.
- Keep the center opening large enough for the tissue to pass through.
- Finish with a neat slip-stitch border.
- Crochet Pumpkins
Make 3 small pumpkins.
Round 1: Magic ring, 6 SC.
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch — 12.
Round 3: (SC, increase) around — 18.
Rounds 4–6: SC around.
Round 7: (SC, decrease) around.
Stuff lightly with fiberfill.
Continue decreasing until closed.
Use black yarn to embroider:
- Triangle eyes
- Triangle nose
- Smiling mouth
Make small black stems.
- Green Vine
Chain a long strand of green yarn and attach it across the front of the tissue box.
Add small crocheted leaves along the vine.
Leaf:
Chain 8, work SC/HDC along one side of the chain, then continue around the other side. Finish with a slip stitch.
Attach the leaves between the pumpkins.
- Crochet Ghost
Use cream yarn.
Work a small rounded amigurumi shape:
- Magic ring, 6 SC
- Increase to 12
- Continue SC for several rounds
- Add a little stuffing
- Decrease gradually and close
Make two small arms and attach them to the sides.
Embroider black eyes and a small smiling mouth.
- Witch Hat
Use black yarn.
Crochet a small cone:
- Magic ring, 6 SC
- Increase gradually
- Continue increasing until the hat reaches the desired size
- Work several rounds without increases
- Add a wider brim around the bottom
Add an orange band around the hat.
- Assembly
Sew the three pumpkins securely to the front of the orange section.
Attach the green vine and leaves around them.
Place the ghost on the upper corner and secure it firmly.
Weave in all loose ends.
Final result: a chunky crochet Halloween tissue-box cover with an orange pumpkin top, three jack-o’-lanterns, green vines and leaves, and a cute ghost wearing a witch hat.
