This pattern recreates the decoration in your photo: a long spiral crochet ribbon in green, red and white, finished with a yellow star, mini Santa, bells, baubles, candy cane, presents and snowflakes.

1. Main Spiral Ribbon
The ribbon is worked as one long strip. The red and green center is bordered by white.
Green center
With green yarn:
Row 1: Ch 9.
Row 2: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. You have 8 sc.

Change to red.

2. Form the Spiral
Lay the ribbon flat.
Starting from the top, gradually make larger loops:
Top loop: approximately 8–10 cm diameter.
Second loop: approximately 12–14 cm.
Middle loop: approximately 18–20 cm.
Lower loop: approximately 22–25 cm.
Bottom loop: approximately 25–30 cm.
The loops should gradually become wider toward the bottom.
Secure the ribbon temporarily with sewing pins or small clips.
Use white yarn and a tapestry needle to make several tiny stitches where the ribbon crosses itself.
Do not sew the entire spiral together. Only secure the crossing points.
3. Hanging Cord
Cut approximately 30 cm of white cord.
Fold it in half.

19. How to Attach Each Decoration
Use a tapestry needle and strong white thread.
Make a small hanging loop on each decoration.
Pass the thread through the loop.
Attach it to the white border of the spiral ribbon.
Make 2–3 secure stitches.
Leave the decoration hanging freely so it moves when the tree is displayed.
20. Final Assembly
Place the spiral vertically.
Make sure:
- The top is narrow.
- Each lower loop is wider than the previous one.
- The ribbon doesn’t twist.
- The white borders remain visible.
- Santa sits approximately in the middle.
- The star is centered at the top.
- Decorations are distributed evenly.
- The bottom finishes in a small curved point.
