1. Santa Claus Spiral Ornament
Santa Head and Body
With beige or skin-tone yarn:
Round 1: 6 SC into a MR
Round 2: INC around = 12
Round 3: (SC, INC) × 6 = 18
Round 4: (2 SC, INC) × 6 = 24
Rounds 5–8: SC around = 24
Round 9: (2 SC, DEC) × 6 = 18
Round 10: (SC, DEC) × 6 = 12
Add a small amount of stuffing.
Round 11: DEC around = 6
Fasten off and close.
Santa Hat
With red yarn:
Round 1: 6 SC into MR
Round 2: INC around = 12
Round 3: (SC, INC) × 6 = 18
Round 4: (2 SC, INC) × 6 = 24
Rounds 5–8: SC around.
Switch to white yarn.
Rounds 9–10: SC around.
Sew the hat onto Santa’s head and add a small white pom-pom at the tip.
Beard
Using white yarn, crochet small fluffy sections with SC and HDC stitches. Sew them around the lower part of Santa’s face.
Add two black eyes, a small red nose, and pink cheeks.
Santa Body
With red yarn:
Round 1: 6 SC into MR
Round 2: INC around = 12
Round 3: (SC, INC) × 6 = 18
Rounds 4–9: SC around = 18
Round 10: (SC, DEC) × 6 = 12
Stuff lightly.
Round 11: DEC around = 6.
Close and fasten off.
Add a white trim around the bottom and a black belt with a small gold buckle.
2. Christmas Tree Spiral Ornament
Tree
With green yarn:
Round 1: 6 SC into MR
Round 2: INC around = 12
Round 3: (SC, INC) × 6 = 18
Round 4: (2 SC, INC) × 6 = 24
Round 5: SC around
Round 6: (3 SC, INC) × 6 = 30
Round 7: SC around
Round 8: (4 SC, INC) × 6 = 36
Continue increasing gradually to create a tapered Christmas-tree shape.
Finish with several rows of SC while slightly decreasing toward the top.
Add white crochet chains around the tree to imitate snow garland.
Decorate with small red, gold, and white beads.
Star
With yellow yarn:
Make a small magic ring.
Crochet 5 points using chains and SC/HDC stitches, forming a five-point star.
Sew the star to the top of the tree.
3. Snowman Spiral Ornament
Head
With white yarn:
Round 1: 6 SC into MR
Round 2: INC around = 12
Round 3: (SC, INC) × 6 = 18
Round 4: (2 SC, INC) × 6 = 24
Rounds 5–8: SC around
Round 9: (2 SC, DEC) × 6 = 18

Stuff lightly.

Close.
Add black eyes, an orange carrot nose, a smiling mouth, and pink cheeks.
Snowman Hat
With black yarn:
Round 1: 6 SC into MR
Round 2: INC around = 12
Round 3: (SC, INC) × 6 = 18
Rounds 4–6: SC around.
For the brim, work a round of increases around the bottom edge.
Add a green band around the hat and small green holly leaves with red berries.
Scarf
With green yarn:
Chain approximately 45–55 stitches, depending on the desired length.
Work SC across the chain for 2–3 rows.
Wrap the scarf around the snowman’s neck and secure it with a few stitches.
4. The Spiral Hanging Body
This is the most important part of the design.
Choose the main color for each ornament:
Santa: red and white
Tree: green and white
Snowman: green and white
Chain approximately 80–120 stitches depending on the desired length.
Work SC along the chain.
For a thicker spiral effect, crochet a second matching strip and join the two strips together with SC or SL ST.
To create the curved spiral shape, gently twist and arrange the crocheted strip into a loose corkscrew shape. Secure the shape with small hidden stitches where necessary.
For the Santa version, alternate red and white sections.
For the Christmas tree version, use green with a white snow border.
For the snowman version, use green and white.
Add small decorative stitches, berries, snowflakes, or gold beads along the spiral.
5. Assembly
Attach the spiral securely to the bottom of the character.
Add a jingle bell to the very bottom.
Create a small hanging loop using CH 12–15.
Attach the loop firmly to the top of the character.
Hang the three ornaments from a natural jute or cotton cord.
Finishing
Check all stitches and reinforce the hanging points.
Make sure the bell is securely attached.
Trim all loose yarn ends and hide them inside the crochet work.
Arrange Santa, the Christmas tree, and the snowman at different heights to create the beautiful cascading effect shown in the photo.
