Cheesy Stuffed Meat Bread (Savory Stuffed Loaf)

Ingredients

1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
500 g ground beef
1 small onion finely chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 cup cooked bacon pieces
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons ketchup or tomato sauce
1 tablespoon mustard optional
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
2 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 180°C

Cut the bread lengthwise and hollow out the center to create space for the filling

In a pan over medium heat cook the ground beef with onion and garlic until browned
Drain excess fat then add salt pepper paprika oregano thyme and mix well

Stir in ketchup and mustard then cook for another 2 minutes
Remove from heat and mix in half of the cheese and the cooked bacon

Fill the hollowed bread with the meat mixture pressing it in gently

Top with remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheese

Brush the outside of the bread with melted butter

Place on a baking tray and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread is golden and crispy

Garnish with chopped parsley before serving

Slice and enjoy warm with your favorite dipping sauces
