White Outer Snowflake
Round 1
Make a MR.
Ch 3, work 11 dc into the ring.
Sl st to the top of beginning ch 3.
12 dc total.
Round 2
Ch 1.
Sc in next stitch, ch 5.
Repeat around.
Sl st to first sc.
You should have 6 chain-5 spaces.
Round 3
Sl st into the first ch-5 space.
In the same space work:
sc, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, sc.
Repeat in all 6 spaces.
Join with sl st.
Round 4
Sl st to the center of the first point.
Sc, ch 4, picot, ch 4, sc.
Work sc into the valley between points.
Repeat around.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Turquoise Motifs
Make 6 identical pieces.
Ch 8 and sl st into the first chain to form a ring.
Round 1
Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2.
Repeat this sequence 6 times.
Join with sl st.
Round 2
Sl st into the next ch-2 space.
3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in the same space.
Repeat around all 6 spaces.
Join and fasten off.
Light Aqua Leaves
Make 6 leaves.
Ch 10.
Starting in the 2nd chain from hook:
sl st, sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc, sl st.
Continue along the opposite side of the chain using the same stitches in reverse.
Sl st at the base.
Fasten off.
White Center Flower
Round 1
Make a MR.
Ch 3 and work 11 dc into the ring.
Join with sl st.
Round 2
In every stitch work:
sc, ch 2, sc.
Join.
Round 3
In every ch-2 space work:
sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc.
Repeat around.
Fasten off.
Assembly
Place the white outer snowflake flat.
Arrange the 6 turquoise motifs evenly around the center.
Place one light-aqua leaf between each turquoise motif.
Place the white flower in the center.
Sew all layers together with matching thread.
Secure the center and several outer sections so the snowflake stays flat.
Beads
Attach one small pearl bead to the tip of each main point.
Add additional pearl beads to the remaining points.
Secure each bead firmly on the back.
Hanging Cord
Ch 35–45.
Sl st back along the chain if you want a thicker cord.
Attach the cord securely to the top point.
Thread a large turquoise bead and a small white bead onto the hanging cord.
Secure with knots.
Blocking
Lightly dampen the finished snowflake.
Place it flat on a blocking surface.
Pin all 6 points evenly.
Shape the leaves and petals.
Allow it to dry completely.
Apply fabric stiffener if you want a firmer Christmas ornament.
