Round 3: (Sc, inc) ×6 (18)

Round 4: (2 sc, inc) ×6 (24)

Repeat and stop at 18 stitches before the shell edging.

Layer 4

Repeat and stop at 12 stitches before the shell edging.

Layer 5 (Top)

MR, 6 sc

Round 2: Inc around (12)

Round 3: Shell edging around.

Fasten off all layers.

Tree Assembly

Stack the layers from largest to smallest. Sew through the center, leaving enough space between each layer to create a three-dimensional Christmas tree.

Spiral Garland

Using white (or gold) yarn:

Chain 90–120.

Work 3 sc in every chain across.

The strip will curl naturally into a spiral.

Wrap it around the tree from top to bottom and sew lightly in place.

Tree Trunk

With brown yarn:

Round 1: MR, 6 sc.

Rounds 2–8: 6 sc around.

Stuff lightly if desired.

Sew beneath the tree.

Hanging Loop

Chain 25.

Join to form a loop.

Attach securely to the top of the tree.

Star

With white yarn:

MR, 10 sc.

Create five points:

Ch 5, sl st in second chain from hook, sc, hdc, dc, sl st into next stitch.

Repeat five times.

Sew a pearl bead in the center and attach the star to the top of the tree.

Decorations

Sew pearl beads around the spiral garland.

Attach a large pearl bead and a small gold bead beneath the trunk.

Weave in all yarn ends.

The finished ornament measures approximately 12–15 cm (4¾–6 inches) tall and makes an elegant handmade Christmas tree decoration for holiday gifts, wreaths, or Christmas tree ornaments.
