Materials
- White DK or sport weight cotton yarn
- 3.0 mm crochet hook
- Fiberfill (optional, for stars)

Finished Size
Approximately 70–90 cm (28–35 in) long.
Spiral Base
Foundation
- Ch 180–220 (adjust for desired length).
Row 1
- Starting in the 2nd chain from hook:
- Work 3 sc in each chain across.
The strip will naturally curl into a spiral.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Wire Support
Cut a piece of craft wire slightly longer than the crochet strip.
Carefully wrap the crochet strip around the wire.
Twist the wire into a loose spiral shape.
Secure the ends with yarn.
Snowflake (Make 8–10)
Round 1
- Magic Ring
- Ch 1
- 12 sc into ring
- Join with sl st.
Round 2
Repeat 6 times:

Fasten off.
Small Star (Make 8–12)
Round 1

- 10 sc into ring
- Join.
Round 2
Repeat 5 times:

- Sl st into next stitch
Fasten off.
Hanging Strings
Cut white yarn into different lengths:
- 8 cm
- 10 cm
- 12 cm
- 15 cm
Attach snowflakes and stars to the spiral at varying heights for a balanced look.
Top Hanging Loop
Chain 20.
Join into a loop with a slip stitch.
Attach securely to the top of the spiral.
Stiffening
Brush the crochet pieces with fabric stiffener or diluted white glue (1:1 with water).
Shape the spiral and ornaments.
Allow to dry completely before hanging.
Assembly
- Wrap the crocheted strip around the wire spiral.
