Pattern
Foundation Strip
Ch 70.
Row 1
Starting in the second chain from the hook, work:
1 sc in the next 10 stitches.
1 hdc in the next 10 stitches.
1 dc in each remaining stitch to the end.
Ch 1 and turn.
Row 2
Work 2 sc in every stitch across.
The increases naturally cause the strip to curl into a spiral.
FO, leaving a long tail.
Optional Thicker Spiral
For a fuller ornament like the photo:
Chain 80.
Work 3 sc in every chain across.
The additional increases create a tighter, thicker corkscrew.
Finishing
Lightly stuff the spiral if desired.
If you want a firmer ornament, insert a thin craft wire through the center before closing.
Weave in all yarn ends securely.
Attach a small jingle bell to the bottom using a jump ring or yarn.
Attach a decorative snowflake or star charm to the top.
Add a hanging loop approximately 12–15 cm (5–6 inches) long.
Steam lightly if needed without flattening the spiral.

Tips
Work loosely so the spiral curls naturally.
Cotton yarn gives the ornament crisp definition.
Adding beads randomly along the spiral creates a festive sparkle.
Make several ornaments in different colors and hang them together on a branch, Christmas tree, wreath, or garland.
