Creamy Tucson Shrimp
Ingredients:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
Instructions:
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and sauté until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the shrimp and cook until pink and fully cooked, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the heavy cream, paprika, cumin, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes or until slightly thickened.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat with the creamy sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro if desired.
