INGREDIENTS
- 300 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 45 g (1/4 cup) granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 7g dry yeast
- 140 mL (3/5 cup) hot milk
- 40 g (1/4 cup) softened butter
For the Decoration:
- Whipped cream
- Chopped strawberries
- Powdered sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a medium bowl, combine granulated sugar, yeast, and hot milk. Stir until the sugar and yeast are dissolved.
- Whisk in the egg. Add the all-purpose flour and salt, then mix the dough using a spatula. Continue kneading by hand until you have an elastic dough.
- Incorporate the softened butter into the dough while continuing to knead until well combined.
- Form the dough into a ball, cover it with a cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise for one hour.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball. Cover and let them rest for 30 minutes.
- Slightly flatten each ball, then roll it into a ball again. Cover and let them rest for an additional 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan over low heat. Fry the dough balls for 2-3 minutes on each side until they’re golden brown.
- Allow the fried balls to cool slightly, then cut them in half lengthwise, similar to burger buns.
- Spread whipped cream on one half and add chopped strawberries. Place the other half on top, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.
