Tree Body
Start with the main tree color.
Make a magic ring and crochet 6 SC into the ring.
Round 1: 6 SC
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around – 12 SC
Round 3: SC around – 12 SC
Round 4: Repeat 1 SC, INC around – 18 SC
Round 5: SC around – 18 SC
Continue working in rounds while gradually increasing the number of stitches so that the piece forms a long tapered cone.
Increase evenly every 2–3 rounds until the desired width is reached.
Continue without increases for several rounds to create the lower portion of the Christmas tree.
Begin decreasing gradually toward the top, keeping the shape symmetrical.
Stuff very lightly if desired, then close the top securely.
Spiral Decoration
Using cream or white yarn, make a long chain approximately 2–3 times the height of the tree.
Work SC or HDC back along the chain.
The finished strip should naturally curl when gently stretched.
Wrap the spiral strip around the tree from the top toward the bottom.
Secure it discreetly to the tree at several points with a tapestry needle.
Add small pearl beads and gold beads along the spiral decoration, spacing them evenly.
Top Star
Using cream yarn, make a magic ring.
Work 10–12 SC into the ring and close with a SL ST.
For the star points, work repeated combinations of SC, HDC, DC, HDC and SC into selected stitches to create five pointed sections.
Repeat around the circle to form five symmetrical points.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Attach the star securely to the top of the Christmas tree.
Hanging Cord
Cut or crochet a long cord in the same color as the tree.
Fold the cord in half.
Attach the folded end to the top of the ornament.
Make a secure loop large enough for hanging the decoration from a Christmas tree branch.
Bottom Stem
Using brown yarn, crochet a narrow cord approximately 5–8 cm long.
Attach it securely to the bottom center of the tree.
Add a small gold bead, followed by a large white or pearl bead.
Finish with another small gold bead and a small jingle bell.
Secure everything tightly so the beads and bell cannot fall off.
Decorative Finish
Add the cream spiral evenly around the entire tree.
Sew the pearl and gold beads firmly onto the decorative trim.
Make sure the tree remains symmetrical and that the spiral gradually becomes wider toward the bottom.
Gently shape the crochet tree with your fingers so it forms a natural three-dimensional cone.
Repeat the same pattern in different colors such as dusty pink, olive green, burgundy, lavender and teal.
Finishing
Weave all loose yarn ends securely into the back of the crochet pieces.
Trim excess yarn.
Check that the star, spiral, beads and bottom bell are firmly attached.
Lightly stretch and shape the tree so the spiral decoration sits evenly.
Your Christmas crochet spiral tree ornament is ready to hang.
