Spaghetti Aglio e Olio with Shrimp

Ingredients:

1 lb medium shrimp, detained and tails removed

1 lb spaghetti noodles (adjust quantity based on family size)

6 to 8 garlic cloves, minced (adjust to personal taste)

1/4 cup butter

Olive oil (3 drizzles)

Italian seasoning

Freshly ground pepper

Red pepper flakes

Salt, to taste

Fresh herbs, to taste

1 cup pasta water (reserved from boiling)

Instructions:

Boil the spaghetti noodles in water until tender, making sure to reserve 1 cup of pasta water for later use. While boiling, consider adding a dash of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and some fresh herbs to enhance the pasta’s flavor. Drain the pasta and set it aside once done.

While the pasta is boiling, wash the shrimp thoroughly.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp to the skillet.

Allow the shrimp to cook until they turn slightly pink and begin to curl. Then, add the minced garlic.

Continue cooking for 5–7 minutes, and then drizzle in some olive oil. Stir continuously until the shrimp are fully pink and curled.

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp and garlic. Sprinkle in Italian seasoning, freshly ground pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt to your taste. Begin by adding a quarter of the reserved pasta water, and adjust as needed to achieve the desired consistency—adding more water if it’s too dry or less if you prefer less liquid.

Keep tossing all the ingredients in the skillet until everything is well incorporated and heated through.

Serve and enjoy your delicious garlic shrimp pasta!

Feel free to customize the seasonings and herbs to your personal preference for an extra burst of flavor.
