Ingredients:

  • 4 medium potatoes (Russet potatoes are recommended)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp paprika
  • 4 to 6 tbsp olive oil

These Sliced Baked Potatoes are prepared in a Hasselback style, which means they are sliced vertically from top to bottom and roasted until they achieve a golden-brown perfection. Potatoes make for an ideal side dish to complement any meat entrée. Plus, you can prepare them in various ways.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium potatoes (Russet potatoes are recommended)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp paprika
  • 4 to 6 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Begin by washing and drying the potatoes thoroughly.
  2. To achieve the Hasselback-style effect, make vertical slices into each potato, being careful not to cut all the way through, stopping no more than halfway down. Alternatively, you can slice them at angles for a crispier texture.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Combine the salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to create the seasoning mixture.
  5. Lightly spritz the potatoes with olive oil.
  6. Evenly sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the potatoes, making sure it gets into the slices.
  7. Place the seasoned potatoes on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the potatoes turn a lovely golden brown and become tender.
  9. Once done, remove them from the oven, and savor the delightful Sliced Baked Potatoes!

These Hasselback-style sliced potatoes are an excellent accompaniment for any meat entrée and add an elegant touch to your plate. Enjoy!
