Mediterranean Ground Beef Skillet

Introduction

The Mediterranean Ground Beef Skillet is a colorful and hearty one-pan meal that brings together the sun-kissed flavors of Greece, Italy, and the Middle East. Juicy ground beef mingles with fresh vegetables, tangy feta, and aromatic herbs — creating a dish that’s both comforting and vibrant.
It’s perfect for busy weeknights, as it comes together quickly but tastes like something straight out of a coastal taverna!

Ingredients

500g ground beef (lean or regular, your choice)
1 medium zucchini, sliced into half-moons
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1 small red onion, sliced
1 small yellow onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
100g feta cheese, crumbled
2 tbsp olive oil (extra virgin for best flavor)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp paprika (optional, for color and depth)
Fresh parsley, chopped — for garnish
Lemon wedges — for serving (optional, but highly recommended!)

Instructions**

Prepare your skillet
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the red and yellow onions. Sauté until softened and translucent — about 3 to 4 minutes.
Add the garlic and beef
Toss in the minced garlic and ground beef. Break it up with a spatula as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and paprika. Cook until the beef is browned and fragrant.
Add the veggies
Stir in the sliced zucchini and cherry tomatoes. Cook for 5–7 minutes until the zucchini is tender and the tomatoes start to release their juices, forming a light sauce.
Add the finishing touches
Sprinkle the crumbled feta over the top and let it slightly melt into the mixture for a creamy, tangy touch. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt, pepper, or lemon juice.
Garnish and serve
Remove from heat, sprinkle fresh parsley on top, and serve hot with warm pita bread, rice, or couscous.

Methods and Formation**

Formation Tip:
To make your skillet look as good as it tastes, layer it beautifully:

Start with a base of browned beef and onions.
Add your colorful zucchini and tomatoes.
Crumble feta over top for contrast.
Finish with a sprinkle of green parsley.

This layering gives your dish that Mediterranean market appeal — rustic yet vibrant.
