Delicious and simple soft cake

Ingredients:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 4 large eggs
– 1 cup milk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking pan of your choice.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

You can customize this basic recipe by adding flavors such as lemon zest, almond extract, or cocoa powder for a different twist. Enjoy your delicious and simple soft cake!
