Layered Ruffle Christmas Tree Hanging Decoration

Materials

• Crochet hook: 2.5 mm – 3 mm
• Yarn:
  • Green (tree layers)
  • Red (middle layers and base)
  • White (ruffle edging)
  • Yellow/gold (star)
• Small beads or pearls for decorations
• Red satin ribbon for bow
• Stuffing (optional)

Abbreviations

• MR = Magic ring

Tree Base (Red)

Round 1: MR, 6 SC (6)
Round 2: INC around (12)
Round 3: (SC, INC) ×6 (18)
Round 4: (2 SC, INC) ×6 (24)
Round 5: (3 SC, INC) ×6 (30)

Continue increasing until you reach the desired bottom width.

Round 6–8: SC around
Fasten off.

Bottom Green Layer

Attach green yarn.

Round 1: Work SC around the red base.
Round 2: (SC, INC) around to create a wider circle.
Round 3: SC around.

For the ruffle edge:

Round 4:
(SL ST, 3 DC in next stitch, SL ST) repeat around.

Attach white yarn.

White Border:
(SC, picot, SC) around the edge.

Second White Layer

With white yarn:

Round 1: Create a circle slightly smaller than the green layer:
MR, 6 SC
Increase evenly until the circle fits the tree.

Round 2: SC around.

Ruffle edge:
(SL ST, 4 DC in same stitch, SL ST) around.

Red Middle Layer

Attach red yarn.

Make another smaller cone/circle:

Round 2: INC around
Round 3: (SC, INC) around
Continue increasing until the layer size matches the photo.

Add white scalloped border:

(SL ST, 3 DC, SL ST) around.

Top Green Tree Section

Green yarn:

Round 1: MR, 6 SC
Round 2: INC around
Round 3: (SC, INC) around
Continue until the top section reaches the size needed.

Finish with white ruffle edging.

Star

Using gold yarn:

Round 1: MR, 10 SC
Round 2: Create 5 points:

For each point:

• 3 DC
• CH 2
• SL ST back into same stitch

Repeat around to form a star.

Sew star on top.

Assembly

1. Stack the layers from largest to smallest:
   • Green bottom
   • White layer
   • Red layer
   • Green top
2. Sew layers together securely.
3. Add colorful beads as ornaments.
4. Attach a red ribbon bow.
5. Add a hanging loop with gold yarn.
