CHEESY ONION CRISPS

Ingredients:

2 large onions, thinly sliced
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 large eggs, beaten
Cooking oil for frying
Instructions:

Prepare Onions: Thinly slice the onions into rings and separate them.
Prepare Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, grated Parmesan cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
Coat Onions: Dip each onion ring into the beaten eggs, then coat it thoroughly with the cheese and flour mixture. Press the coating onto the onion ring to ensure it adheres well.
Set Aside: Place the coated onion rings on a baking sheet or plate and let them rest for a few minutes to allow the coating to set.
Heat Oil: In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat enough cooking oil to submerge the onion rings. Heat the oil to around 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Onion Crisps: Carefully add a few coated onion rings to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy, usually 2-3 minutes per side.
Drain Excess Oil: Once done, use a slotted spoon to remove the crispy onion crisps from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve: Repeat the process with the remaining onion rings. Once all the cheesy onion crisps are fried, serve them hot as a delightful snack or appetizer.
These Cheesy Onion Crisps are sure to be a hit with their crunchy exterior and flavorful cheese coating. You can serve them with a dipping sauce of your choice, such as ranch or a spicy mayo, for an extra kick.
